Star Wars collecting series from Topps

Ahead of the launch of the film Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Topps, the UK’s leading collectibles company, has released a new collecting series called Journey to Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

The trading card collection features a host of characters from the original trilogy, including Princess Leia, Han Solo and Luke Skywalker, as well as teaser imagery from Star Wars: The Force Awakens, said Louise Ramplin, entertainment marketing manager at Topps.

Journey to Star Wars: The Force Awakens has more than 200 cards to collect, including 16 rainbow foil cards, 31 mirror foil cards and 32 cards from Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

There are biography cards to collect, covering characters such as Han Solo, Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader. Starter Packs retail at £4.99 and contain a collector guide, collector binder, a packet of trading cards and a special edition card. Packets of eight cards retail at £1. The new trading card collection is the first of five instalments from Topps linked to the Star Wars: The Force Awakens film.

The next collection, Force Attax, is a trading card game. Launching in December 2015, the instalment will contain classic characters from the saga as well as a selection of Star Wars: The Force Awakens characters.

Also launching in December 2015 will be a Star Wars: The Force Awakens sticker collection. This album and first wave of stickers will feature classic characters and vehicles, alongside characters from the new film.

The fourth instalment will be a second wave of Star Wars: The Force Awakens stickers, launching in February 2016. The stickers in this launch will all be from the new film and will help collectors complete their Star Wars: The Force Awakens sticker albums, said Ramplin.
